In 2019 we were proud to unveil the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Emblem in a truly spectacular way.
The emblem’s design beautifully captured the vision of the event, including striking elements of local and regional Arab culture. From the central form taking its inspiration from a traditional Arabic woollen shawl with intricate embroidered detail, to the unbroken loop (reflecting interconnectedness) and curves depicting desert dunes – each element was symbolic and meaningful.
It was a unique brief, aimed at local and global audiences, where we were able to use impressive natural and man-made landmarks in Qatar and around the world as a canvas for synchronised projection of the emblem precisely at 20:22 Qatar time.
These included Ministry of Interior, Burj Doha, Souq Waqif and Msheireb, Katara Cultural Village Amphitheatre, and Al Zubarah Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Each landmark was transformed into a celebration of the World Cup, from ancient walls to natural wonders and modern man-made feats – a glimpse into the magic Qatar would deliver in 2022.
