For “Moscow: A Journey of Rediscovery and Reinvention”, DAE transformed the entire 25,500 square meter surface of Moscow State University into a kinetic canvas in celebration of Alfa Bank’s 20th anniversary and Moscow’s 864th birthday.
This eye-popping, 30-minute, audiovisual journey travelled through Russia’s past, present and future and set a new benchmark in live entertainment, earning a Guinness World Record for the largest video-mapping show ever attempted.
Watched live by 800,000 spectators, the show blended unprecedented 3D and 4D elements to create the first show of its kind: legendary French free-climber Alain Robert (the “French Spiderman”) scaled the surface of the building, Russian opera diva Anna Polovinkina triumphantly sang from the “Prince Igor Suite”, more than 5,000 condensed explosive charges and fireworks effects lit up the night sky and 50,000 balloons were released to celebrate Moscow’s 864th birthday.
Behind the scenes, it took more than 1,000 specialised crew, 200 trucks of equipment, 81 video projectors, 2,200 cubic meters of purpose-built steel structures, a million watts of sound and 40 massive searchlights to deliver the unique 4D show.
